                Written by Melanie Morgan
                Saturday, 21 June 2008

Despite the massive heat wave rolling through the San Francisco Bay Area,
(tempertures nearly 100 in Berkeley where it rarely cracks 65) hundreds of
bikers from all around the western part of the United States rumbled through
the East Bay Saturday to stand in solidarity with the United States Marine
Corps, under attack from anarchists to cross-dressing she/she's from Code Pink.

To all my Military and Veteran comrades and other friends:

Military records containing information on about 100 million people can be accessed FOR FREE through
31 May at www.ancestry.com/military. After 31 May, a paid subscription will be required to see them.

This was part of an arrangement made between The National Archives and Ancestry.com.

The documents cover almost every conflict and include draft registration cards from both world wars,
images of headstones of Civil War soldiers and Vietnam prisoner of war records, among many other papers.

If you are involved with a military or Veteran organization or association, please get this info out to
your members. This would also be of interest to anyone that had an ancester that served in the military
     regardless of their status.

Brigade America, Gathering of Eagles and PGR at
pro-troop rally on the Capitol steps.

Today, March 22, 2008 something happened in Berkeley that I thought I’d never see in my entire life. Eight hundred plus Pro-Troop demonstrators, at least 450 of whom arrived on Motorcycles, waved flags, sang the national anthem, actually said the Pledge of Allegiance, and spoke out over loudspeakers on Shattuck Avenue in support of our American soldiers and their right to recruit all over the country. A young Marine who had recently returned from Iraq was put up on the platform. He had been receiving hugs from Gold Star Mom’s (mothers of fallen warriors), thank you’s and semper fi’s all day and was pretty choked up. He said the Vietnam Vets never had a homecoming welcome like this and stopped to thank all of the Vets present for their service (there were many), as well as recognizing the many Gold Star Mom’s and Dad’s present, and the many American’s who turned out to support the troops, whether they agreed with the war in Iraq or not. Code Pink who had been out in force on the 12th of Feb. numbered “6” today. Berkeley, the bastion of anti-military, anti patriotic thought and action, saw something today that I don’t think has ever happened in that city before. One Berkeley dad was out there with his sons and by the looks on their faces you could tell they had come to Shattuck Avenue to look at new species- people who love and appreciate our soldiers. Cars drove by honking and waving at all the American flags and the police stood guard in front of the Marines Recruiting Station although today they didn’t need to, because today, everyone was just going in to say “Thank You.” I thought you’d all like to know about it. Berkeley felt like Montana today and that is nothing short of a miracle. It felt great to be there. Best to all, Vici Lame Stream Media Suckered Again Code Pink Issues Totally False Press Release as a Vile April Fools Stunt April 1st, 2008 WHEN: Tuesday, April 1, 12 noon WHERE: Marine Recruiting Station, 64 Shattuck Square, Berkeley WHO: Sasha Shamszad, landlord; Marines Manpower Division representative; CODEPINK spokesperson Sasha Shamszad, landlord for the Marine Recruiting Center in Berkeley, has reached an amicable agreement with the Marines to redeploy from Berkeley. Details of the agreement will be outlined at the press conference. Read the rest of the story here "Code Pink's Sick April Fool's Day Prank...." The only fools are the members of code pink and their attention starved leader, Medea Benjamin… who thinks this is funny. Code Pink pulled a nationally coordinated April Fool’s ‘prank’: a proclamation of false victory for their side-that the Marines had been evicted from the Recruiting Center in Berkeley. Read the rest of the story here Congratulations on a successful mission! I am Tom Gruber's cousin. When I rec'd the letter asking for pro-American motorcycle organizations to represent their pro-military support in the city of Berkeley, I immediately organized a meeting of the bikers in Orange County, Calif. Next door to my jewelry business for thirty, well-established years, approximately 400-500 bikers meet each Wednesday evening. Read the rest here I read your letter to Mayor Bates indicating you and your companies unwillingness to do business with anyone from the Berkeley area. I, as President of North American Underwriters a Managing General Underwriter of large employer self insured group medical programs agree with you wholeheartedly. Read the rest here
